Our mission… dance for everyone!
At the Freedom School of Dance, we believe that dance should be available to everyone - regardless of socioeconomic status.
In 2018, I started the Freedom School of Dance with a mission to make dance accessible to every child. The studio began with just 17 students, and my plan was to keep the program as affordable as possible for their families. It was my belief that any child who wanted to try dance should have the opportunity.
Beyond being a natural form of human expression, dance classes go farther than teaching proper techniques; dance instills valuable life lessons. From body awareness, emotional regulation, and socialization to resilience, rhythm, and history. Not to mention improved endurance, strength, flexibility, and mental function, all contributing to shaping well-rounded individuals. The benefits are endless.
Driven by a personal passion for dance and a firsthand understanding of how life-changing it can be, I can’t stand the idea of any child missing out on their passion due to financial constraints. Of course, this is the reality of the world, and for many families. However, it's a reality we are determined to change. Education and opportunities are society's greatest equalizers, and the Freedom School of Dance is changing the game by offering easier access to this sport and art form.
Our commitment extends beyond low fees. At the Freedom School of Dance, we redefine "accessibility" by reimagining studio policies. We understand the challenges faced by families, particularly those with limited resources, and strive to be more forgiving in our approach. Additionally, we repurpose dance shoes and apparel, so families don’t always have to buy new. Finally, we are continually working to extend the reach of our program and develop resources that help with accessibility.
Every child deserves the chance to experience the joy and benefits of dance. By donating to the Freedom School of Dance, you are contributing to a movement that breaks down financial barriers and opens the world of dance to all children. Join us in making a difference and ensuring that no child is deprived of their passion for dance.
Donate today and be a part of a brighter, more inclusive future for aspiring young dancers.
